I understand your pain; However, AI is an unstoppable force with too many long-term benefits to be stopped or slowed down. The same goes for anything automation related, we lose a lot of jobs, but get convenience and efficiency in return. We'd be stuck in the stone-age if we never took that leap.
When you choose to post your art publicly, you run the risk that a human learns your style and art and is able to re-produce it. This has been a standard for a very long time, almost all art with very few exceptions has been just repeated learning from each other. During the time of Leonardo DaVinci, artists would travel from afar just to visit one of his paintings, stand in front of it for hours and re-create it. It doesn't mean those artists practicing are just copiers who can only make that same image and style. It aided them with new ideas and techniques that lead to their own style and art. It can be hard to comprehend how a computer is working like a human brain, but it is doing exactly that. Billions and billions of digital neurons carefully understanding art and of course learning language the same way we do but at a much faster rate. Just like a human, having studied and looked at Picasso's paintings, AI can create a new paintings of say a bowl of fruit in the style of Picasso. And best of all it's not just limited to hard-coded styles, it can create a painting in the combination of multiple artistic styles, or even with no particular style, just the essence of what a water color drawing is. When you think of creating a a water-color painting, what do you do? You pull an understanding of learned material from your brain to create a subject in the image associated language you learned to create. When a computer does this, it's considered atrocious.
Be very careful not with opinions, but with your actions, those who don't understand or look at the larger picture often have devastating effects with power. You have the power to help create a law or set a precedent that may not have the benefit you think it will. You may just destroy fair-use, and give companies like Disney the ability to copyright "styles" of art. Good luck creating a new animated film, you might be in violation of Pixar since the art style looks too similar. You like that animated spiderman film (into the spider-verse)? Well too bad, that will become a Disney copy-righted style. This won't just extend to images either, be prepared to give these large corporations the power to copy-right music styles, wording styles, website formats, etc.
Take the time to understand the larger consequences, love your art by the way Sam.
