I deal a lil bit with data science and machine learning and i have basic understanding of how AI works and how computer works in general. As both an artist and data scientist, the second argument by AI defenders are funny to me. Why?
At it's core, AI, just like any computers, cannot actually "see" art, all they can "see" are pixels and each pixels have RGB values that they use to train AI. AI cannot "see" art like we do they can only see numbers in the form of RGB values of each pixels in a digital art or pictures. Essentially AI did not take inspiration from art, they just take pixels that are done by humans. Basically, AI cannot do what it does without pixels organised and made by humans.
What or who else takes pixels? Art thieves and art, kind of ironic i have to say.
tracers.
