If human emotion, memory, opinion, etc are just chemicals released by small electrical discharges, as a reaction to our environment. (Cause, Effect, Reaction.) Then the only difference between man and machine would be the fact that we're organic, and they're not. But that doesn't really change anything. Our brains function EXACTLY like a computer, it just uses a hell of a lot less electricity and is made of mostly fat. This is why I genuinely believe that sentient AI is definitely a possibility one day. But it's just as likely to be dangerous as it is to be kind and empathetic.
