(For my argument here, CAI = Creative AI, PAI = Practical AI)
If the CAI art didn't steal people's art, the conclusion this matter would be subjective- value of the consumer, vs value of the creator.
HOWEVER- CAI litterally CANNOT exist without theft. Stealing art to steal jobs- that makes it objectively wrong. There is no other argument. Human artists must continue to exist. AI art is worse than human art, and can't exist without human art.
CAI is wrong.
I love technology. I'm a computer science student. And with that I know that creative AI is only the bad side of this. Comparing it to nuclear science, CAI is nuclear bombs, and PAI is nuclear power.
By "practical" AI I mean PAI for science research, for robots, and other real-world applications.
Hell, if AI was used to simulate a human brain, with all it's emotions and memories, I'd love to see the art THEY make. Because it'd be an actual person, not abstractly linked data points.
