Oof worry begins at 30 seconds. I work in Data Engineering, I could forgive the mistaken version (he likely meant 3.11) given he mentioned python3 --version. Not having heard of the REPL is shocking, it's literally how you should be introduced to Python. Not knowing about type hints straight after mentioning he learnt C and C++ is a little weird. I suppose it's not a heavily used feature in older Python code (and scientist code), but having done C/C++ he probably should have been wondering if such a thing was possible. Honestly, it sounded like he's searching or typing out code as he listened, but he doesn't really have any answers so probably not. It's alarming how many people skip the basics when it comes to programming related jobs. Even way back when I got my degree (which had programming in the name of it) I noticed a few people on it were not keen on getting such things down. They've gone onto work in different industries, but we also weren't paying anywhere near the amount for our degree that people now pay. To be fair to him, you don't need to know a huge amount about TCP for day to day Data Science/Analytics. Although, it should be covered in a Computer Science Degree at a light level. Those being TCP = guaranteed ordered delivery (thanks to error correction) and UDP = essentially fire and forget messages. CJ gave some solid advice at the end. This guy just needs to lock-in. I think he could learn all the things asked within a year and be in a much better position. Ironically, ChatGPT could really help him study, if he used it correctly.
