Artist since 1984 here. Non-AI artists ALSO do not create images "out of thin-air". Your consent is not needed to "inspire" an AI system's results and shouldn't be. Stop pretending you got where you are without standing on the shoulders of giants. There's even an EXTREMELY famous saying about this: "No idea is born in a vacuum", which is intended to convey the sentiment that "no idea is new" and "no one has claim to an idea". When someone "emulates" the style of Disney, it's protected by "Fair Use". When someone is "inspired by" Todd McFarlane's style of comic art but does not directly copy his drawings or any of his IP, it's protected by "Fair Use". You people who are against AI sound like turn-of-the-century carriage-makers who are against the advent of the internal combustion engine and the automobile.
