I read recently that "please" and "thank you" actually costs the company money in response times. It is unnecessary. Funny - I extensively use both ChatGPT and Claude on e very complex project. I find myself shouting and berating them on a regular basis because of poor responses. I thought I was an outlier until I read that in the coding world (I am not part of that world) the difference between sophisticated vs basic AI users is their willingness to engage the AI in a dynamic way, including shouting and sparring with it. I was not alone! :) It isn't necessary to say please and thank you to the chatbot. The key is to engage it on a higher level than just routine tasks if you want to unlock the full potential.
