The question has always been what sort of society are we trying to create? The economic systems across recent centuries have been allowed to set the terms of reference by those who control the land (feudalism), means of production (capitalism), and now digital platforms and AI (techno-feudalism). It's driven by profit and power, not on what benefits the 99%. As technology continues to shrink the globe, this push for more and more by the 1% is increasingly deadly for everyone and everything else. Adaptation is no longer a sound strategy, it seems, as there is no way to keep up. If people want to continue, the brakes need to be engaged and fast. But the ruling elite, drunk on power, still think they will remain in charge. Is the problem AI, them or both? I think both.
