Devil/efficiency advocate here. You really went down on making thing easier... Problem is: efficiency vs involvement is to a dichotomy it is a spectrum. You would probably find me fun to sometimes have around since I am absolute nerd with (somewhat) great knowledge of games, game development, tech and few other topics. And I am all about efficiency in things that do not matter for me. I did not care about school literature - if I could I would proudly use AI to get passing grade on essays and forget about that disaster of a course. Well, at least now I can rant about school forcing teens to relate to losers going thru midlife crisis by using the power of world famous authors and failing miserably. Or maybe there should be option to summarize needlessly long and boring texts full of corporate nonsense at work. Or just nonsense from people that we tolerate more then love. (like this comment for instance 😆) And as a professional software developer I saved quite a few hours by using ChatGPT. And I used it precisely because it is efficient and in my field efficiency is life. At the same time I did care about researching what it suggested and tweaked or fixed its flaws. But it really saved me a lot of guessing and guided me straight to solution. Current age AI is a powerful tool to create half baked solutions. Sometimes half baked is just what you need. And sometimes it gives you ability to make fully baked solution way faster. And sometimes it is absolutely unusable and creates more problems then fixes.
