this attitude of being terrified of the future is what's going to CAUSE problems.
You think this is new, but its just history repeating again. Its the same shit as stem cells, nuclear power, the steam engine, the loom.
You'll get all riled up until someone comes along offering to fix it by crippling it and it'll set us back decades. We still have hardly any nuclear stations because of all the hippies scared of atomic war, so we've just killed millions of people with coal fumes instead
All this is going to do is slow down our advancement and ensure our lives continue to be miserable. You're going to be stuck with highly limited AIs that need a ton of regulation, so only big corporations will be allowed to own them. They will remain securely under human control, and used by humans to control humans. It's already happening, adobe and disney are moving into the AI art scene to replace the free programs with their own paywalled models
