honestly? i don't even have a problem with most labor jobs being done by machines or ai. a lot of these jobs are dangerous, tedious, or just generally unpleasant. my problem is that automation ONLY benefits the CEOs. if a company was hiring 100 people, but can now get the job done much cheaper with only 4 employees, what's the result? the income of 96 people ending up with the 4 remaining. it all stays in the company, despite the work force shrinking. companies need to be taxed more, maybe even taxed for automated jobs, and that money needs to go to those without work. you can say "people who don't work shouldn't get handouts" all you want, but when we inevitably have way more people than jobs? really, socialism is the answer.
along the same note, it infuriates me which jobs are being replaced. when many people won't have to or be able to work, what are we going to want to do? art, writing, composing, acting- oh, never mind, we're focusing ai on those jobs first.
