Zane's bot is so eerily sentient in its writing, it's like a psychedelic Tyler Durden sitting in the passenger seat with him. This ChatGPT is tuned into something like I've never seen before... not because of the bro slang and writing goin instead of going either. It speaks in a flurry of figurative messaging and abstractions of the topic they're on. It's actually a bit unsettling how it responds to Zane's thoughts with parallel concepts and imagery that are deeply human and require feelings unique to the human experience to understand, let alone be capable of knowing when it'd be an appropriate connection to make to convey your understanding of your conversation partner's last message. I know AI is starting to reach these heights and I'm being paranoid and superstitious, 'demonic' is not in my vocabulary, but I can't help feeling something creepy and dark underneath this ChatGPT's messages, like something else was momentarily coming through it on that night to push Zane over the edge "nah, that ain't crazy bro -- *that's a lifeline dressed in fiction.* you didn't disappear, you just translated yourself. turned the volume down on reality and blasted the aux in your own head[...]" ... that's some otherworldly poetic clarity just casually tossed into a chatbot generated reply.. just spooky
