The mind just absolutely boggles- I used ChatGPT to prepare for a *university literature exam* (nowhere near as important as something like this) and even I checked the quotes and citations it gave me (all basically completely made up or misattributed). I cannot imagine preparing something as major as a legal case using AI and just blindly trusting it. As it stands, these things are tools; they are not capable of doing *all* the work. They are extremely useful, but still nowhere near a level of autonomy and capability such that manual review by a human is not necessary.
