Just remember. AI cannot replace every human worker. There is a physical limit to how much energy we can generate at any given moment. Even if we became an advanced level three civilization with the ability to harness 100%of the energy from a star, there is still a physical maximum that this sun could output at any point in time.
A recent study actually determined how much electricity Gemini consumes processing a single "average" prompt. They tried to bury the lede and minimize it. But it only takes a slightly above average intellect to carry the remainder and subtract the divisor. They determined that a prompt and output costs about 0.24 watts. Sounds so miniscule. Except that 0.24 watts for about fifteen seconds of computer processing equates to the energy used by a typical 1000 watt microwave or hair dryer.
You cannot replace a human with a microwave oven. If you expect an AI to put in a full 8 hour workday, be prepared to pay the electric bill equal to keeping your hair dryer onfor 8 hours.
Imagine the power demand to have 100 microwaves running for 8 hours a day to operate a grocery store.
