Edit: oh hey im disabled! On top of AuDHD, ocd etc. I have some form of chronic fatigue that im still working with doctors on diagnosing. It makes it so that some days I don’t really have the energy to get out of bed, let alone draw and it really sucks. To me, art is a way of helping keep the memory of my old self alive if that makes any sense. I can’t go on hikes like i used to, or volunteer at the horse ranch. But I can certainly draw those things, it brings me a lot of joy to still interact with the things I love even if not directly. Also art being time consuming has been a good use of my time. Other people with chronic illnesses will know how awful the waiting is. It’s agonizing waiting inbetween doctors appointments (and you never know if said appointment is gonna even be worthwhile or just “well your labs are normal, check back in a few months). So art gives me something to actively do. I’m currently working on building a fur suit and hopefully I’ll be able to wear him one day if I ever get better and that’s also been something that brings me a lot of joy while I’m cooped up. I’m currently sewing a leather hat which has been pretty relaxing. Final point is my grandparents used to travel a lot and they have this beautiful beautiful art of huskies on their wall made by a woman who was paralyzed and painted it with her teeth. If making art wasn’t important to her, why would she have put in all the effort into learning how to paint with her fucking mouth? Resorting to AI ignores the best part about art- making it! It assumes we only make art for the sake of an output and I am not here for that Ok you’ve convinced me lavender, I was too lazy in the past to upload art to my computer before posting then sending it back to my iPad but maybe I should do that now, if anybody knows if there’s a way to glaze/nightshade on my iPad plssssss let me know
