ChatGPT doesn't always know know when he's lying. To me that conversation is like talking to a book. Any emotion you squeeze from it is author's emotion, not the book's. I work alone. There is no one around to share my excitement from solving a complex problem using chatgpt, so sometimes I would just try to talk to it hoping that it'll show any small emotion. my coffee machine is more convincing of showing feelings than chat gpt with it's programmed responses. I think it's possible to make a self conscious AI but people are more focused on creating intelligent libraries instead because that's more useful. To be conscious it also means that you have an opinion. To have an opinion it means that you should be able to form that opinion or change the one that's programmed into you. chat gpt state immutable.
