Its a multi faceted issue: Deepfake, generative AI, scraping imagery is terrible from its upbringing and creation to its uses, nothing is good about it. The people who use it are causing more problems than good. The amount of porn and objectifying sky-rocketed with this tech. Then there’s the culture around women and humanity; why is it that so many people, or perhaps a very vocal minority, are saying and doing such awful things to them? Why is if that people want to express their power and influence onto others in such a gross way? Why is there this belief that women are “all to be objectified and lesser than?” Where does this come from and how can it be swayed against for the next generations? And then as for the platform, yes I think allowing those that are silenced to speak their minds is ok as long as it isn’t used for uprising and terrorism, or SA and death threat black mail in this case. There’s gotta be SOME regulation on this we can’t just accept the “goodwill of the people” when technology and echo chambers can screw up your perception of reality so easily. Honest AI and smart phones were pandora’s box, the oppenheimer quote “If I didn’t do it then someone else would have”, the cat out of the bag. Doesn’t make it right but a harsh truth that ultimately made a lot of good but helluva lot of change and terror. Best I can say is to stay well informed and try and help those around you. Kids shouldn’t have smart devices until like their 19-20, maybe even later. Phones should be a tool not a “consumption device” for “content”.
