The double standard is because:
1- Artists lobby less.
2- Loose legislation on art is traditionally good for money laundering by the people who participate in lobbying.
The comparison with music is not good, because despite all the "legal protection" musicians are absurdly exploited by the companies who lobbied for said protection. Asking for that kind of thing will probably end in the form of AI companies lobbying for some scrap "protections" your way to make you feel validated while nothing changes.
Btw I'm not on your side of your argument due to my own values, but I'm clearly aware of how scummy these practices are.
