I've never really looked into the factual basis of this but we've been told that people who disrespect animals have a tendency to show the same treatment to people.
So I do wonder, if you are impolite to chat bots and you end up speaking to your chat bot more than people, will that make you less polite to people? Another factor to consider when deciding whether to be polite to a chat bot or not.
