The main difference with music, is that the Music Industry has very powerful representation, where the art community does not (as far as I know). There is no way that the legal team for the big music corporations would stand for AI-generated music, if it were based on copyrighted material. The same would happen if someone tried to release a theatrical movie using AI. The movie industry would shut it down so fast. For art, it would likely require a class-action lawsuit, to make it actually illegal to use copyrighted material in AI training. The existing, trained models would have to come down, and they would need to stand up new AI models that are only trained on royalty free, or approved works.
On a side note, I think the thing that bugs me the most, is people who use the AI, but then put their name on it, as if they made it. It's an AI commissioned work, nothing more. You don't get to claim that you made it. If anything, you should have to put a big AI watermark logo on the front, showing that an AI created it. In small print, on the back, you can put "Prompts by:" and your name.
