This makes sense in that a lot of execs are still Boomers or elder Gen X and many are still figuring out how to "embrace" social media for marketing purposes (or rotate a PDF, as the meme goes). They don't have a clue about how AI works or how to use it to their advantage, just that they're supposed to be on top of it and throw it into corporate conversations as the latest buzzword.
