Duh, AI is not a godsend, not until we radically restructure our economy. Even then it is like a snake in the grass, useful for dealing with mice and other vermin, but the poisonous ones can kill you. First thing to remember is that AI is NOT human, does not think like a human, is not capable of understanding or reasoning, is designed and structured ONLY to SOUND like a human. Second thing to remember is that Businesses are HUNGRY to reduce their number of (expensive) employees so as to increase their profits. If it was just one or even a few businesses, you might reason it is 'OK', but it will be MOST businesses and LARGE numbers of employees, suddenly unemployed, with their entire skill set now considered obsolete, and we are going to tell them to all "Learn new skills"? Really? Which skills? Remember, the AI is sitting in computers already made, and made overseas for that matter. There will be no 'increased employment' in the manufacture of AI. No jobs there. The fact that the AI will no doubt make mistakes, lots of them, BIG mistakes, will not dissuade the CEOs who will be defending their very well paying jobs to their Board of Directors. They will just continue to apply 'patches' (minor uptick in SW engineers, aided by AI in the patches until the AI is 'trusted' enough to fix itself...) Always remember the "First thing to remember". This will not end well because as inherently 'stupid' AI is, People (especially upper management) are very stupid too.
