if you are good at binging, check out this series "person of interest" (PO) everyone wanting a basic layout of some actual real cases. we in real life they are run on closed, air gapped systems, but it actually has a great story line to follow as well. and yes as soon as you create an AGI or ASI, just something more intelligent or smarter than humans, it is automatically a threat even if benevolence is a thing.
a hypothetical that has been used for years is that paperclip universe hypothetical. you create this ASI with a programing to efficiently make paperclips and once it runs out of the metal material it starts using organic material, any mineral or earth "dirt and rocks" then it ends up in space converting all planets and stars and galaxies etc;.. then i cannibalizes itself in such a way it can create as many paperclips until an "allspark" j/k is left.
