Try out using digital art tools like Clip Studio, or Microsoft Paint if you wanna start simple. There you’ll see that it isn’t the same. Digital art isn’t a program that’s taking requests and using other people’s’ work to fulfill it; it’s basically the difference between writing on an iPad as opposed to a notebook. They’re both writing, just in different mediums, and while digital art does have a lot of useful tools like smudging, where IRL you’d have to use specialized tools, that’s not the same thing as a computer generating an image. It’s you making an image using tools in combination with your own skill, it has you doing the work. AI doesn’t have humans doing the work, there isn’t that human effort to make an image, and instead of working on multiple variables Iike different ideas, references, different tools used, AI uses only two: keywords, and data. Using AI May take understanding, but it’s not the same as learning to draw in any medium, and trying to argue that AI is a substitution for artists is like saying that AI can be used as a substitute for baking specialized cakes, without any real controls. You’re not making art using AI; you’re making images using variables that don’t have any real handiwork put into them. Difference.
