I know of a guy who was a part of an AI art project that actually had the AI as a tool. They were feeding this particular artist's own works to the algorithm, and eventually getting some wacky new ideas out of it to use as an inspiration for the round of art. My friend was using the AI (I suppose Midjourney) for that project, the other guy in the project was the original and the ultimate artist.
