I tried to keep it light, but I'll leave a trigger warning for sui ideation: . . . I am a disabled and chronically ill artist and AI became popular right when I was at risk of having surgery on my hands due to an injury. I had to stop drawing for over a year and was only able to get back to drawing last november. When someone told me to become a prompter, I have never felt so offended in my entire life. Every time I see AI art, it's extremely triggering to me because it reminds me of when I was injured. I often wish I hadn't been alive to see this tecnology develop, it just sends me to a really dark place. But if I stopped being an artist, I know I'd suffer way more. When my hands didn't work, I started exploring other types of art and that's what I'll keep on doing until I can't move anymore.
