The rich will eventually create ai army's that worship their every will, and fight the ai army's of other rich. Humanity will continue, but only through the rich as they create perfect utopias for themselves and let the poor starve, as unemployment skyrockets and rations eventually dry up, as the ai farm all available land but don't sell the food, as it's to expensive for anyone to buy.
Or maybe the government freaks out as unemployment skyrockets, and enforces strict taxes on all companies that use ai, prompting ai free companies to pop up and garner widespread use that put ai companies out of business. It might correct itself, so long as the manufacturing of ai drones is never completely independent to avoid ai fighting back. Honestly though, a few emp's are all we need to crush them.
