LLMs don't have to be better than people. The just have to be good enough. They can write formulaic Sherlock Holmes in the style of Herman Melville. You could get an ebook, print, and audiobook in less than a day. Sell 10 and make a profit.
Everyone agrees that it is worse. It's faster and cheaper and makes a profit.
