Even I agree that Tesla could do more for safety. This is emotional story with only one view. Bad news, trying to make it political.
Tesla for sure advertise it missleading. Elon is just too optimistic in his estimation, and it is silicon valley standard to exaggerate.
But from all clips shown, the same would probably happened regular driver as well. And all these cars still need supervision especially in bad weather.
The stupid thing is, that they could add easily warning, if car si not sure and add radar just to warn driver that some obstacle there, to be alerted. So logic only camaras stays, but more is done for safety. But in world where big pharmacy killing millions with drugs, that should help, with food that is poison in many many times, this is small problem or one of many. Think about it.
