There’s a flip-side too. Not everyone has the will or time to learn to draw at a high level. AI gives people the ability (albeit flawed) to make their dreams come to life. There IS an intention behind the art, but not the same kind as if it was created by an artist. It is a little bit privileged to say that everyone who wishes to create an image MUST invest the massive amounts of time and energy in order to master a craft OR spend hundreds of dollars to commission art by those of high-level artists.
AI art will never REPLACE true art, but it can AUGMENT the current artistic marketplace, just like how automated customer service bots are not going to decimate the customer service industry. This is just how automation is modifying our society, and we will need to adapt.
