This video shows straight up the disconnection between the art creators and the consumer. You criticize that AI art cannot convey to you the feelings and the intention of the creators, and yet you fail to realise that to even ponder or comprehend these aspects it takes time to actually think about them, a thing which the majority of the population is in short supply. Think of someone coming home after working 10+ hours, they just watch brainless anything that comes to them (that's why the scrolling content type apps rose to the top, they serve FAST content) for like an hour and then they go to sleep, ready to repeat the schedule the next day. There is just no time for barely anyone to sit and think through anything. The huge following of the streamers you mentioned is just an expression of this material fact. And it is not like the artists themselves have not taken part in the development of this way of consuming art. For decades, the machine of capital has grinded and refined all the formulae and recipes of how to create art and how the consumer consumes it, it has neatly built and oiled all the cogs in a vast industrial machine or art creation and consumption, all with the help of artists and a vast army of other humanities (psychology, for example). And now, once we can see on the horizon the apex of this industrial process (as it has been the case with the majority of industrial processes up to the present) - the elimination of the human from the production chain (and mind you, not the human element, as that human element has been stripped from the product a long time ago) - the artists flung their arms into the air and shout "This product does not represent the human!". As if the vast majority of the contemporary art being consumed en masse does! The pejorative term "slop" could very well be applied to the content spewed out by the human-driven machine just as much as it is applied to the content spewed out by the non-human machine. And for this reason I welcome all AI art (and even wish its progress to accelerate), no matter how soulless, miserable and ugly it might me. Maybe after artists get replaced by the machine in the industrial chain that they've built, after the commodification of art has reached its limits, maybe then art will return to its essence: a voluntary free-time human activity.
