There's loads of people learning how to paint from old masters and they mimick that style. Same with artists who teach "how to"s, and those who either learn from (sorta how ai does) from an artist or various artists with similar styles, or even people who copy a animal photograph and paint it then sell as their own. I'm not sure people will win any ai lawsuit since the ai just learns how we also learn in similar above ways. It puts out a totally unique piece of art. That artist or group of similar artists it learned from didnt create THAT art piece. Just as a painter or digital illustrator can make something like monet or van gogh. There's even paint and wine franchise businesses literally built on that business model long before ai was a thing 2018/today. Glazed images shown in thumbnail are almost identical vs variation of ethnicity shown in the more romanticized version with birds, further shown. Again its different and not the authors actual work. Ai learned like joe shmoe who looked at Rembrandt paintings and recreate his style. I dont see creators wining this suit if a good legal team clearly explains this. Ai will win and its got big $$$$ behind it anyway. Also was that illustration of hers actually copywrited. If not shes sol. Similarly in patented products today if you tweak the product just a little you can legally get a diff patent and legally be able to sell that item. Even if it doesnt have much if a change. Just enough to pass the rules for it to be given green light. Its why so manyyyyy companies put out cheap toys abd products without patents now since they can be easily knocked off legally. Its not worth the $ invested anymore to get a patent or copyright.
