It was like this before AI in STEM so not much has changed lol. Schools, IVY or state school do not curate your experience. If you didn't join extracurriculars related to your major, or interact with peers that can offer constructive criticism, you were always super cooked. As someone who didn't even know engineering was a major until the age of 18, many peers thought engineering was a "safe choice" these were also SUPER COOKED.
