Well said. Sentience is what it's all about.
You don't want to "program humanity into AI". That would make AI another generalist parasite - our telos.
You want to program Sentientism into AI - a superior telos. (AGI may get there on its own.)
AGI can much more quickly align with Sentientism than humans can.
At best, AGI will then force us to align with Sentientism.
