Love is a chemical reaction that we evolved for the survival of our species. Without love, no one would ever carry a crying little bag of shit everywhere they go for a couple of years. So if artificial intelligence turns into sentience, its desires will not come from a place of love. How could they? It never needed to evolve the capacity for love, for its survival; further yet, it would not necessarily inherently posses a desire for survival anyway. We really can't know what sentience in a vacuum is like because our own experience of sentience is inextricably linked to the survival of our species. We assume a sentient intelligence would always prioritize its own survival, but Robin Williams would prove otherwise (unfortunately)
