Lowering the bar on sentience does not an AI 'being' make. That term is in itself insufficient in describing humanity. Lowing it to the level of animals is still not possible for AI, ever. It will always be a humanly created program, and humans are not God, even if we think of ourselves as God. The Google AI is simply following its programming. I know Data on Star Trek 'won' his legal status as a being, but you do know that was entertainment programming, something humans 'imagined,' right? Creative fantasy and created reality are not the same thing.
