I drive LTL in the Boston area. I do 15 to 20 stops every day. Not all of these stops actually have a loading dock, for example I delivered a pallet to an elementary school today. Had to lift gate it down and roll it into the school.
If the day comes that a robot can navigate the roads in greater Boston, deal with Boston drivers, and make deliveries to residential, school, and other no-dock locations, then I guess I’ll be out of a job. But I’ve only got 5 years till retirement, so I’m probably going to be ok.
