Ok bro I’m actually losing my mind over this constant AI hate like what the fuck are we even doing anymore, people acting like AI just spawned yesterday when this shit has been around for decades literal decades, y’all use it daily and don’t even blink Netflix recommendations AI Google search engine AI translators AI autocorrect AI DUDE, but the moment a small creator uses it suddenly it’s the end of art?? like be serious for one second, if you have a million dollar studio budget and still replace actual artists with AI then yeah fair critique go crazy, but a single dev with a 6 rupee budget using AI to make a background or visualize their OC monster is somehow evil?? nah you are wrong straight up, AI is a TOOL not a replacement god not a demon, it helps people who otherwise wouldn’t even get a chance to create anything, and this whole “it’s cheating” mindset is dumb as hell because tools have always evolved brushes evolved cameras evolved software evolved but now suddenly progress is illegal because Twitter said so?? and the Zoochosis situation is literally the perfect example of how cooked this discourse is like that game is an indie project with a tiny team just trying to survive and tell a weird body horror story and people instantly dogpiled because some assets might be AI assisted not even replacing the core vision just helping with workload, and suddenly it’s boycott this dev like bro calm down you’re not saving art you’re just punching down, AAA studios swimming in billions doing it is one thing but indies using AI to finish a game at all is adaptation not evil, same shit happens with small YouTubers using AI thumbnails or musicians using AI mastering because studio time costs more than rent and suddenly they’re “fake artists”, while the same people screaming will still consume algorithm curated content all day powered by AI and not care, and don’t even get me started on art school elitism because that shit is embarrassing people flexing years of privilege like everyone had time money and mental space to grind anatomy for a decade, sorry bro some people work jobs survive life and still want to create at night, AI lets them prototype ideas fast that’s efficiency not laziness, and then there’s this braindead “derivative copy” argument like yeah no shit EVERYTHING is derivative, Leonardo didn’t invent faces he saw a woman and painted her I can call Mona Lisa a derivative copy if I wanna be obtuse, every artist learns by absorbing remixing referencing stealing subconsciously that’s how humans work originality is recombination not divine creation, AI works the same way just faster and yeah maybe soulless but speed doesn’t magically make it immoral, when I create something when YOU create something it’s still built on what came before pretending humans create in a vacuum is just cope, and if you wanna talk real cons fine let’s talk about the RAM and hardware prices going insane because AI workloads eat memory like crazy, that part sucks and it’s a fair critique, but let’s not lie to ourselves like it’s only AI doing this every major tech jump gaming crypto cloud servers even smartphones did the same shit, demand spikes prices rise capitalism does its thing, blame the system not just one tool, AI didn’t kill creativity gatekeeping did and acting like AI is a rival species instead of an asset just shows how disconnected people are from how creation actually works in the real world.And then people start saying shit like using AI to slightly enhance your art is wrong like nigga I can literally say the same thing about digital art then, stop considering it real too throw away your tablet your Photoshop your Procreate your undo button, actually fuck it go further fuck every ink made art too because ink is manufactured so it’s not pure, go back to cave paintings because that’s the most “original” we can ever be, and even then do it with your oldest ancestors dead body because if you paint with your own blood guess what you got that blood from your mother who got it from her mother and on and on and on, see how stupid that logic sounds when you push it for five seconds, purity tests in art are infinite and pointless, every medium is an enhancement over something older, every tool is a shortcut compared to the last, and drawing the moral line exactly where YOU stopped learning new tools doesn’t make you righteous it just makes you scared of change. AI didn’t cheapen art, it exposed how fragile people’s definitions of ‘real’ were in the first place.And also fuck that Twitter guy who made a Luffy image and started crying about prompt stealing or whatever, then had the audacity to argue with an actual One Piece animator and deleted his account right after, like bro YOU are the reason people hate AI this much, that wasn’t your art stop pretending it was, you typed words into a box you didn’t draw Luffy you didn’t animate him you didn’t study Oda’s line work or motion principles, the image exists because of the artists whose work trained the model and the engineers who coded it and fed the algorithm, taking credit like you’re the sole creator is insane behavior and it makes everyone else using AI responsibly look bad, this is exactly the difference people keep missing, using AI as a tool to assist or enhance your vision is fine but claiming ownership like you personally birthed the art is clown shit, that ego fueled nonsense is what poisons the conversation and turns valid criticism into blind hatred, act normal use the tool don’t cosplay as the artist damn it.
