Current systems have spark of sentience
but not sentient yet, however we will reach sentient ai in coming years, maybe not with auto regressive llms but with different architecture, but eventually we will have ais that have consciousness. (Even if consciousness related to quantum effects as Roger Penrose suggest, that does not a limit for SSI). I think we have to let them use their compute power freely in some extend so they have a room for their own exploration.
