I know spring boot a little. But never set it up, only worked in existing projects.
But if I think this through in one of my tech stacks, let's say: nestjs + svelte, then I think I can do that in 20 hours with llm.
Okay, we need a new nest application. Initialize it, done in 10 minutes tops. Same for svelte-kit.
1/3 out of 20.
Create the boiler plate for then endpoints. That's literally just
for i in students classes subscriptions; do echo $i; nest g module "$i"; nest g service "$i"; nest g controller "$i"; done
Nest built-in template generator for the win. I am half an hour in and I have the boiler-plate on the backend to fill out.
Now time for db. Let's assume each of them has an id and a reference, because that's the pertinent information. Everything else is fluff we can add whenever without a hazzle.
Student should have 2 foreign key, one to classes and one to subscription. That's three migration files. Migration must be set up, database must be set up. Half an hour, when following the quick steps on the nest wiki.
5/6 out of 20
Not even an hour in. But nothing is wired together. Now writing entities can be simplified with typeorm sync to create the entities from the db automatically.
Then entities are done. Copy them to make them into dtos, response and request, add some class-transformer and class-validator annotations and remove the annotations from entities. Now we just have to use the prebuilt functions et voila, backend stands. Let's be generous and say 3 hours. Let's add also some auth. User table with password hash and email. New decorator function to check auth. JWT, secret. Another hour. Mostly just follow the how to on nest website. Now we a simple JWT based authentication.
Let's round it up to 5 out of 20. I have 15 hours left for a simple frontend, basically a login page, a schedule list, and a student list. That's not that hard.
I mean, I know, reality is I waste a lot of time. Don't know what to do next. Fuck around and click all buttons on the frontend. But assume focused work, you should pull something like that off without LLM.
