I absolutely reject the use of AI in customer service. When I make a telephone call for help with anything ... my new Maytag washing machine, my newest health care provider, etc. it is disheartening to be vetted by AI while I know a human being is what I really need. Not every question can be answered by a programmed program ... AI. I appreciate using SERI on my phone to ask for directions to a destiny which allows me to concentrate on the road and my driving vs having to have my eyes leave the road to look at a paper map like I used to have to do. I mean paper maps are a necessary tool when power is down but I'm okay using AI for this need. I dislike what technology does when it cuts jobs for people. An example of this is at the grocery store or box stores. I will not use self check out. I don't work at these establishments and I am actually retired now. If I wanted to work at my local WalMart, I could interview, get trained and then collect a pay check. I always raled against leaving my job at the end of the day and then doing a little shop at WalMart only to be expected to check myself out because the ten to twelve cashiers this store used to employ were let go and the store had rows of self check out spots. Nope!
