Post-modernism ruined art way before AI came along. It's main contribution being that anything and everything can be considered art - f.e Andy Warhols Cambell soup, The Fountain by Marcel Duchamp and all the nonsense art pieces the Modern Art world is peddling.
AI art is the logical end point when we treat "Art" like a product that's consumed. It takes time, money and manpower to make "Good Art", but if there is a cheaper more efficient way to make consumable "Art" through AI, Media companies and people alike will use it to save move and time.
Not everyone can pull together enough money or manipulate people into making a movie or a TV show to bring their vision to life, but now AI is a tool for the poor and isolated that allows them to do so. I think there is potential for everyday people that haven't invested the time and effort into developing the skills needed to create "Consumable Human Art" to do so through AI generation.
Since AI isn't going anywhere, I think its better to treat is like another tool in the Art makes arsenal. "Real Artists" might use it to generate a few things while Amateurs use it as a crutch. One thing for certain that it is here and Art was always bullshit to begin with
