Look i've always respected Bernie and believe that a lot of your views could be benefical for us. However, the issue with most of your views and ideas in my opinion is this. Everyone can agree that we don't get paid enough and the people in the managment positions make a disproportionate percentage of company earnings. The issue with always attacking the people that do make that is even as someone that doesn't make any where near what they do is it attacks the very thought of some day I might be able to get there and then what was the point of making it. Now on this posting regarding AI 90 percent of the video was fear mongering with what if and possibilities of what AI might be able to achieve. Is it an issue that companies will start to use AI in place of human workers and then cut the hiring rate while forcing the workers to pick up the slack of the others and not increasing pay? Yes. Is it really feasible to say that we cut the work week down to 32 hours? I don't get the point of this don't get me wrong I would love to work less and get paid for a full 40 but if the thought process here is to cut the hours to maybe increase the number of employees retained or hired that won't ever work and this is why. Even if AI increases productivity you have to pay for that robot. Lets make it easy say the robot is 100k a year and they think it will cut out four workers making 30k a year. You want them to what pay for the robot and additonal employees to stand around? Want to increase our pay remove the taxes we pay that we as the people do not even get to see what this is paying for. Our roads, bridges, power, internet, cities, and everything else is aging and crumbling around us. We're sending funds to random countries justified or not it is our money and we get no say in it. Everything in the government is top secret and off limits so we have no way to tell if it was worth the billion dollars to build or research. We could go on and on about this one but seriously how many laws have been pushed out that most of us can't even follow because it is hidden in a hundred differen't pages instead of it being in black and white what it is going to? Furthermore, taxing the companies using AI is going to do nothing but increase the price of the product the make and decrease the number of employees they might of considered hiring. The only way I could honestly see increasing taxes on any business in this aspect would be to tax any company producing AI / Robotics that would replace workers or whatever at a extremely high rate. After every company moves to fully automated or just about (You'll always have to have someone there to watch over the plant) then you can move to tax the rest of the companies but it would still have to be at a lower rate than the companies selling the robots and AI. But that doesn't mean that these funds go to the government to swindle away. These funds should then be distributed to the population not as a full UBI (Well I guess it would be in a way) every month their bank would get whatever the money was taken from the tax directly to the people and as stupid as it sounds should be given to every one no matter how much they make. Will it be a lot maybe maybe not. But I'm so tired of hearing raise the taxes on rich people and rich companies. Raise it for what none of us ever see the benefit of this raises all we ever actually see is the negative
