I suppose in an ideal society, we would have people helping to run each nation that cared about their people, and wrote into law precisely what AI can and can not be involved in, thus ring-fencing jobs and careers for real people and relegating AI to a subordinate position. However we know that governments are merely operative agents for those much higher up the control chain, and so they will carry out whatever those higher up want, and the rest of humanity will be cannon fodder.
