I have recently retired as an IT Architect for a major bank. This article aligns with the premise of what I was seeing. Gen AI is really cool but the ROI in the short term is not clear. We started our process by identifying potential use cases and establishing an experimental process. It had limited success because these tools typically were not well integrated with our processes. In the IT world, especially for banks, that takes time. I am sure they will eventually get there and will start to see a return. IMO we won't see truly transformative AI application adoption for 10 yrs. They need to be useful and have a value proposition.
