Autonomous is not new technology by a long shot, its been in mining for decades, its not true Autonomous but there are those working on it for military applications, the cost equation that has arisen in mining applications has been the incentive for domestic practices and yes it adds up, the question is just because we can does that mean we should, ive worked in mining for nearly 5 decades and seen the changes due to technology up to Autonomous Haulage which is what i currently work on and its not going away, just how it will creep over everything we do is yet to be seen and if what ive seen and experienced is an indication then it most certainly will, most my family and friends work in the trucking industry and they are sad and worried at this turning point and realising what ive been telling them for years was right, operartors, truck drivers included are going the way the horse did, out !
