It is very very different from when human does it. I was trying to explain this to a friend; for example, if an AI somehow made a movie like "Lost Highway" by David Lynch, or "Schindler's list" by Spielberg, and if it did it in exactly the same way frame by frame, it still wouldn't be the same at all. These directors have invested their whole human experience, personal historical experience, and personal emotions, which reflect in the images they produced. It is like comparing a perfect artificial diamond and a natural really clear diamond. Yes, the molecules are arranged in an almost identical way, but one carries the history of the Earth, it tells a story of geology over millennia, and the other is a calculated methodology. One is honest and deep, and the other is an automated product. When human is copying someone's work, it can be cheap, but if it is inspired, it has personal depth. If AI truly became self-conscious, and if we could measure it somehow, its creation could be valued and it would have its unique signature. Otherwise, it is just a collection of pattern recognitions and methodologies for contextualization.
