Only been in the industry for 4 years, but I can assure you, AI is not going to replace 3d artists, animators, lighters, riggers etc. in the near future. Clients and directors change their minds all the time, sometimes even after final renders. Generative AI spits out 2D images, even if it looks like a 3D render, so you cannot go in after the fact and change the fog density in a specific shot, or change a character's hair texture or surface material on a hero asset. Maybe in the future, these tech bros will barf up something to facilitate these finicky reiterations, but in my humble opinion, it seems like a lot more work than just having actual artists do what we do best 🤷♀️
