What use will there be for consumers in a fully automated future? They won't need anyone else anymore; they get better results with their robotic servants. They want to get rid of the middleman, that is to say, everyone that isn't them. Average person was only a means to an end, a way for them to accrue more wealth, and they gave some to the employee only out of necessity. Automation will make this model obsolete - you will no longer be needed.
