I completely agree with your viewpoint on this. Ive always said, I work and do other things because that ALLOWS me to make art. I dont want to give up the joy of creation, because the joy of creation is the GOAL. I dont care as much about the end product. Im not a professional artist and I make art as a hobby. Professional artists have harnessed that love of creation many times over. To say that AI art is a good idea because "you dont have to spend time learning how to be an artist" is seeing creation as a burden, instead of something enjoyable. It's my exact argument against AI art.
Art is difficult to make and that should be celebrated. We shouldnt spend time trying to streamline a process that brings joy and expresses oneself, we should be streamlining dumb labor like moving boxes instead. AI generated art directly steals the joy of art from artists. Thats unacceptable.
